About Me
Homegrown Zoas & Reef-Safe 3D Printed Gear
Designed, tested, and grown in a real reef tank.
Cox Marine Creations – Homegrown Zoas & Frags is a one-person, veteran-owned business based out of Enoch, Utah. Every coral frag is aquacultured in my system, and every product is designed and tested in real-world reef conditions.
No mass production. No shortcuts. Just solutions that actually work.
Built by a Reefer, for Reefers
Cox Marine Creations started the way most good things do — as a hobby that got a little out of hand. Reefing is a male-dominated hobby, and there aren’t many women in it — which makes the community even more meaningful to me.
The Marine Corps
In 2009, I set out on the biggest adventure of my life. I stepped up and placed my feet on those hallowed Yellow Footprints to become one of the few — and even fewer female Marines — to earn the title.
I shipped to Parris Island in June of 2009, where I completed boot camp and earned the title United States Marine on May 6th. From there, I went to Camp Geiger for MCT.
After MCT, I was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood with the intent of becoming a K9 MP, but life had other plans. My hips became a major issue, and I was held back awaiting diagnostic testing and surgeries. In total, I spent 16 months and 3 days at FLW.
Once I was out of the initial training environment and able to push for proper medical care, we were finally able to diagnose the underlying issues. Despite everything, I pushed through and completed what I needed to.
Those surgeries kept me in Missouri until 2011, when I was finally able to move forward and experience the Marine Corps beyond training. I was re-classed as a 6116 Osprey Flight Mechanic, which led me back to Camp Geiger and then on to MCAS New River to begin training for what I believed would be a 20-year career — a huge step up from FLW.
From there, I made it through my training pipeline, and as the oldest in my class, I had the opportunity to help guide our Duty Station assignments. I was assigned to MCAS Miramar and VMM-165 White Knights — my home squadron — where I served as a 6116 Flight Line Mechanic and immediately got involved in helping the squadron transition from the CH-46 “Phrog” to the MV-22 Osprey as part of a Marine Medium Tilt-rotor Squadron.
Then, as life does, I was hit with two more curveballs related to my original surgeries. While recovering from another surgery, my squadron deployed, and I was transferred to VMM-161 Greyhawks at MCAS Miramar to finish out my contract while awaiting medical separation. After multiple hip surgeries, I was medically separated. It wasn’t the ending I planned, but it forced me to find a new path and rebuild.
A New Mission
After separating, I moved to Southern Utah and attended Southern Utah University, training in aviation. I earned my Private, Commercial, and Instrument licenses and graduated in 2018.
But due to ongoing physical limitations, I ultimately had to walk away from flying.
Again — not the plan. But not the end either.
The Tank That Started It All
On July 9th, 2020, my fiancé and I bought our home — complete with a built-in 100-gallon reef tank… that leaked.
So I did what I do — I figured it out.
In 2021, when I was finally ready, I found someone willing to help me reseal the tank and get me started. From there it was Facebook groups, online forums, and some truly generous reefers willing to help a complete stranger.
I eventually found an incredible local resource who has been invaluable along the way — you know who you are, and I’m grateful.
By August 2021, the tank had its first fish. In February 2022, my fiancé became my husband — and he’s been putting up with this reef obsession ever since.
And that was it — things just kept growing from there.
Where It Turned Into a Business
Like most reefers, I started looking for better ways to solve problems in my tank.
Then came the obvious thought:
Why am I buying this stuff when I can design it myself?
On April 3rd, 2026, I got my first 3D printer. Not long after, Cox Marine Creations was born.
A One-Person, Hands-On Operation
· Based out of Enoch, Utah, this is intentionally a small, hands-on business.
· I handle everything myself — the coral, the design, the printing, the packing.
· No outsourcing. No mass production.
· Every frag you receive was grown in my system.
Every product was designed and tested in a real reef tank.

Direct Support
You’re not dealing with a company — you’re talking directly to the person who built it, grew it, and shipped it.
The same attention to detail I carried on the flight line now goes into everything I do — from coral care to product design.
It’s a simple mindset: do it right, or don’t do it at all.
Whether you’re just getting started or deep into the hobby — I’m glad you’re here.
If you ever have questions, feel free to reach out. I’m always happy to talk reef.
Follow along — new frags and designs are added regularly.
